First time we see hesitation on his behalf to kill during phone call to Mohinder. He has realized that he may become a bomb and destroy half of New York. Goes to visit his Mommy, a lonely judgmental woman named Virgina Gray. He expresses a desire to her to not be special, maybe just stay there and be ordinary. He shows her what he can do by making a beautiful and whimsical snowglobe environment with his cryokinesis and the hose from the sink. Accidentally, gets a little too lost in the power of it and starts swirling around her snowglobe collection. She gets nicked by the newly gifted Odessa, Texas snowglobe he had brought for her. She gets freaked out and goes all psycho on him with a pair of scissors, they struggle and he ends up stabbing her through the heart with them, Has first encounter with Hiro who freezes time after his mother's stabbing in order to kill Sylar since the comic dictates that's what he must do to avoid the Dark Future. Fails as his confidence is lacking and Sylar is able to defend himself. After he tells Hiro to kill him and Hiro does not he threatens that he now he has to kill Hiro. Hiro and Ando escape though and Sylar is left with his mother. Using her blood, he paints his own vision of the pending explosion and confirms to his mother that he is in fact very special...he could even be president.

BURNING QUESTIONS

  • Will Peter be able to control his new "radioactive" ability in time to prevent him from blowing up NYC?
  • How does Molly's ablity to locate Sylar fit into the picture?
  • What does Linderman want to do with young Micah (fix an election, perhaps?)
  • When Hiro freezes time to try and kill Sylar, how does Sylar manage to unfreeze it?

Peter seems to have forgotten about Sylar being at large with a thirst for offing Mohinder??

BEST LINES

  • "A gun? The universe cannot be that lame." - Claire
  • "Who's Ted?"- Peter Petrelli to Claire about the person he drew.
  • "You can fly? Cool." - Claire Bennet regarding her bio father's ability.

TRIVIA

9th BLUNDERS (continuity errors, goofs, and factual misrepresentations)

  • The calender (with Linderman's itinerary) D.L. is looking at in Linderman's vault is the calender for 2005. It should be 2006.
  • Earlier in the season, in Homecoming, Mrs. Suresh, Mohinder's mother, tells him that Shanti died when she was five and he was two years old. The girl in the picture is older than five and Mohinder is quite obviously not born yet. Continuity glitch?
